HAPPY Hump Day!

Today I’m sharing a 5-x-7-inch mixed media canvas using this month’s Layers of Life kit, this month’s SMAK kit, and bits and pieces of some other past Unity kits from the past year.

The reason I’ve got bits and pieces of past kits is because initially I started this little canvas months ago, got distracted, tired, or whatever the case may be, and I was not inspired to finish it until today.

Do you ever do that? You’re inspired to begin making something and then, out of nowhere, it just fails to capture the motivation required to finish your vision. It happens to me. Not a lot, but it does happen. This canvas is a pure testament to that process.

So, if you’ve began a card, tag, canvas, or scrapbook page, etc, and it was just never finished, I DARE YOU to pick it back up and add some NEW Unity to it. This was just what I needed to finish my canvas. It felt SO GOOD to put it on my shelf to display.

I hope you can get over that HUMP and finish making your pretty stuff.

SMAK/ LOL Saturday!

Happy Saturday Unity lovers!

Echo here dropping by with a couple cards I made with July's SMAKIt's all about traveling and adventure! Even if you don't travel much. Life is a beautiful journey all on it's own.

Here it is and all of it's beautiful glory!

For this first card I stamped on watercolor paper and colored with distress oxide! I also used the splatter stamp from March's Let Go & Breathe SMAK. Click here to take a peek.

This card I kept it clean and simple. I stamped those beautiful butterflies taking flight and then stamped the sentiment! Matted with some die cuts and it was done! Easy peasy!

I can't wait for summer to slow down some and then maybe I can get some scrapbook pages done with this amazing set!

Another great membership that Unity offers is the Layers of Life.  To get all the details on both of these incredible memberships click here for the SMAK and here for the LOL.

Hope you have a fantastic Saturday!

See what I am crafting about on:

Uniquely Unity Reminder

Hello, it's Kary here with a card using the latest Uniquely Unity July Kit.

If you are wondering about how to get hold of this kit, just click on this link and you can read all about this membership. A new kit is released every month for just $14.99.

Here is this month's kit.  I love the image and the sentiment.  I think aside from Birthday cards I make lots and lots of friendship cards.  This is a great kit for such cards.

On my card, I used copic markers to color the stamp image.  I wanted to mimic the beautiful effect of watercoloring and I hope I managed to do so.   It is basically a one-layer card.

I think there are so many possibilities with this kit, one idea I would like to try is to stamp the flowers on vellum and create 3D layers of flowers on a card.

There are lots of samples and ideas the Design Team has made and here are the links if you would like to see all of them.

Gift Card set

Hey everyone!!!
Happy Wednesday!!!
It is Stephanie here with you today.
Wow it has been way to long since I have posted here on the blog.
So I have really fun project for you today that I hope you will enjoy .
So this card set is going to one of my crafty friends for her Birthday.
For this project I decided to stamp a few cards but not color them in except for one so who ever is receiving this set of cards can enjoy coloring them themselves.
Coloring is such a big craze now I thought it would make a fun gift!!!

I used Tim Holtz watercolor paper and I used this beautiful sentiment set called Girl Truly
So here is a picture of all my images stamped out on watercolor paper and than I adhered them to card bases the only advice that I think is really important here is to make sure you add really good adhesive to the back of each watercolored piece and a lot of it!!!
I wanted to include on colored card just so the recipient could get a little idea of how to color one.
The last step is to wrap them with envelopes and with some twine and I added a fun tag to mine another good idea might be to include the little distress ink cubes as well to add to the gift.

Hope you enjoyed this project as much as I did making it!!
Have a great day!!!

DT Tuesday

Happy Tuesday!  Maria here with your DT Tuesday!  This week I decided to play with
the floral kit Always by your Side and the girl called Sunny  Days.

I decided to make a background using the flowers from Always by your side and my Misti stamping tool.  I stamped the flower (outlined version then solid version in color) multiple times to create some background paper.

Using my Distress Oxide ink I went over the entire thing in broken china and added some drops of water to create the oxide effect slightly.

I was checking out the fabulous creations by everyone in Unity Show & Tell here are just a few that I loved:

Check out this card by Helene.  I just love her baker's twine technique so very cool and clever!

This fantastic one is by Mary Anne.  I love the texture she has going on here using texture paste and Oxide inks.

And check out this shabby chic creation by Mechele.  I just love all the fun texture and distressing on this one.

And these fun inspiration rocks by Bonnie.  Great quote Bonnie, thanks for sharing!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

KOTM Monday

Hello, Unity friends! It's time for another look at this month's Kit of the Month

With so many fun images to create with it wasn't hard to choose what I wanted to create with today.

For today's cards, I used some Distress Oxide inks and a few stencils.

First I taped the stencil over the image. Then I used worn lipstick, spiced marmalade and cracked pistachio and blended them all over the image.

Once the ink was applied evenly, I used a mini mister to mist over the stencil. I then lifted the stencil and applied my heat tool to dry the ink.

Then I just cut the cardstock and mounted it to my card base. A totally easy and fun way to create quick cards right?

Simple Love Story - Uniquely Unity

Good morning! Heather dropping by today to share a card with the first of the brand new kit club at Unity - Uniquely Unity!

Here is a look at the kit - such a beautiful image! You can find all the details of signing up HERE!

I kept my card very simple - I absolutely LOVE this pattern paper - and the sunburst in the top right corner was a perfect fit for my card. I used vellum for my image and sentiment, then added some accents with a white gel pen before machine stitching to my pattern paper and adhering to my top folding card base. Easy peasy!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a fabulous weekend!
